OpenAI supports pure open-source clients and partners with existing relationships; others must reach out. The clarification matters for third-party Codex clients and proxy tooling compliance.
Marwan Atef (@Marwan_3atef) covered OpenAI Secure MCP Tunnel: run a tunnel-client inside your network that long-polls over outbound HTTPS, forwards work to localhost MCP, and returns on the same tunnel.
